Traffic Control

I briefly wanted to touch upon the morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. Please adhere to the following expectations:

1. Cleveland becomes very congested. Please account for this in your morning and afternoon routines. Leave enough time so that students are ready to enter the building at 7:35.

2. Reminder: Students enter the building at 7:35 and the expectation is that they are seated and ready to go at 7:45 when the first hour bell rings. I am also asking ALL parents to not get in the habit of picking your student up early from school. I completely understand appointments but I am focusing on those situations where we are asked to call down students with minimal time remaining in the day. Thank you for your cooperation with this.

3. In ALL situations where students are being dropped off or picked up on the North side of Cleveland, I ask you to direct your child to use the controlled intersection (stop sign) or use the crosswalk where we have two crossing guards. I do NOT want any of our FLW students running through parked cars into Cleveland to get to, or from our campus.

4. We also encourage cars traveling EASTBOUND on Cleveland NOT to make a left-hand turn onto 94th Street. In our first few days, we are noticing this is causing significant backups.

5. It is a traffic violation to make a U-turn in front of the school. In addition, U-turns cause more congestion to an already congested area and create obstructions in the roadway that put the safety of our students at risk.

6. Frank Lloyd Wright is surrounded by residential neighborhoods that support our safety standards and ask that parents respect the traffic laws within the subdivisions due to a higher volume of cars on their streets during drop-off and pick-up times.

7. Finally, we encourage our families to use the PARKING LOT located on the EAST side of FLW for drop-off. This is set up for buses and cars to pull into, drop student(s) off and then exit going EAST on Cleveland.

Thank you for your partnership. If you have questions, feel free to call me at 604-3411.
